Descrição da Oficina Teoria de Mudança

Impact measurement is critical for both investors and entrepreneurs, in order to describe how finance is actually achieving positive social impact on individuals and communities.  A Theory of Change (ToC) is an approach to help clarify the change an organization seeks to make in society, how it aims to achieve these objectives, and what assumptions and issues it is considering.

In this session, we will review how ToC can help the audience to clarify their impact goals, collect and analyze data, and report on their performance. The session will introduce the key concepts around measuring social impact, as well as common approaches used by investors and entrepreneurs. Through an interactive discussion, we will review the key issues and consideration for using ToC in real life.

Purpose

For those interested in understanding and communicating their impact, this session will provide a framework to clarify impact goals, collect appropriate data, analyze and interpret this data, evaluate and benchmark performance, and communicate the results.

Experience

This session will be practical and interactive, drawing on specific examples and case studies, as well as the experiences of participants. Given the practical nature of impact measurement, we will reference examples and tools that can be adapted for use by participants in the session.
